I had a special opportunity to shoot newborn twins! It is photoshoots like these that remind me how much I love what I do. Meet Jazleen and Camdyn; they are 4 days old. When I was asked to do this shoot I knew it would be something different and a challenge. For one, I don’t know too much about babies. Two, I can’t exactly tell a 4 day old what to do and expect a response. Anyway, it allowed me to play the role of a photojournalist and do what I do best, Capture moments. Feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think. I can be booked via the contact tab or send me an e-mail. I would love to work with you.

February 21, 2010Smoke Colours
December 17, 2009Now that wedding season is all wrapped up It’s time to enjoy a different side of photography… The side of controlled random lighting and smoke designs. When going through trying to select these photos, I had the hardest time. What makes a smoke photo good? Is it the colors? pattern of the smoke? How could I narrow 30 down to 5? I ended up going random and with what looked different from the others.
Anyway, on to the smoke!

Let me know what you think or why you would or would not have selected the ones I chose
Drew & Emily Engaged
December 3, 2009Thanksgiving… I hope everyone had a great one! I know this is true for Drew and Emily; I had the opportunity to see it first hand. Gretchen and I were driving to my house when we saw a couple in the park hugging on the path. We found it odd beautiful and continued down the street to my house. On Saturday, while outside helping my dad hang lights, Drew and Emily came walking down the street to announce their engagement to us! Turns out, it was them hugging on the path that night. Moments before we drove by, Drew had popped the big question and, by the looks of things, got the right answer. They then asked for the best me to photograph their wedding in Oct. This was at about 2:30pm. We then decided that at around 3:30 we would knock out an engagement session before they left back to MN on Sunday. The weather was a bit cool but they stuck it out better than I could. We were looking for a specific rock formation thing in the woods that we couldn’t find. Lost a lot of light quickly but got some nice shots in between. How lucky am I? They offered to take me to breakfast Sunday morning and a few more photos before church. I guess not so lucky, it rained a bit. Ah well, good breakfast, more photos, Awesome time! Can’t wait until summer to go to MN and do a full length session with them.
Oh yeah, and here are some of the photos.

The connection between these two was unbelievable, it was hard not to have a good time and laugh!

The path

As always, leave a comment to let me know what you think and tell Drew & Emily how happy you are for them. If you want me to photograph your important event, drop me an email – hello@thornewashington.com.
//La Familia Maaba
November 19, 2009Bienvenidos! Here is another family that may look familiar… The girl in red is by beautiful girlfriend Gretchen, the dog is the famous Goku from my way at the bottom of the page, and the rest? Thats her great family. This was a very short shoot; we only had about 30 minutes or so to accomplish what we needed. Overall, it went great and was a lot of fun. Goku is slowly learning his name so I didn’t have to be too crazy to get him to look at me this time! Anyyyyway, enough blabbering, here are los fotos! Enjoy
